Slight Snag at Rochester
1985

The southward view from the opposite side of the running lines shows the snaking entrance to Rochester
to good effect. 4-CAP No. 3304 was made up of 2-HAP unit Nos. 6084 and 6085, and at this time, eleven
4-CAP units were in existence. Five more of the class emerged in 1991. Chris

The 4-CAP units which originally emerged in 1982 were based on the Central Division, and the conversion
task involved downgrading the existing First Class accommodation of the constituent 2-HAP units to Second
Class. When these units were re-allocated to the South Eastern Division, First Class was reinstated, as seen
here on the derailed leading vehicle of No. 3304. Chris

Returning to the ''down'' island platform, a Class 33 is seen passing by with the Sittingbourne to
Burngullow (Cornwall) empty china clay slurry tanks. Chris
