London Bridge Station Exhibition
27th & 28th August 1988
The skyscraper on the far left is that of Guy's Hospital, whilst that immediately behind the
1866-built trainshed roof are the offices which formed part of the scheme to fund the station
rebuild during the 1970s. Plenty of interest here, with a Civil Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
Department's yellow formation on the right, a gentleman noting down the number; a then
new ''Wessex Electric'' Class 442 (No. 2415) taking centre stage in the attractive Network
SouthEast livery which suited it so well; and British Rail blue and grey-liveried Bulleid-designed
EPB units on the far left. Mike Glasspool
A general overview of the exhibition from the internal footbridge is gained, displaying plenty
of Network SouthEast stock and a number of platform stalls. Mike Glasspool
''Hastings'' unit No. 203001 was displaying a hybrid livery on this occasion, with BR (S) Green
sides and full yellow panel, but with the ''Arrows of Indecision'' associated with BR all-over
Blue and Blue / Grey liveries. Mike Glasspool
