Class 37

English Electric Type 3

South Eastern Division

No. 37047 pairing with No. 66062 at Hoo Junction

A pleasing scene on 20th November 2004 as Class 37 No. 37047 is seen coupled to Class 66

No. 66062 in Hoo Junction ''up'' yard, the former wearing the blue ''Mainline'' livery of 1994. This

particular Class 37 was a semi-permanent resident of Hoo Junction in its latter days, its usual

workings taking it only as far as Hither Green. Its yard stablemate was No. 37109, also a North

Kent Line frequenter and Hither Green-based. David Glasspool

No. 37055 ''Rail Celebrity'' is depicted at Hither Green Depot in July 1997, wearing the 1994

-conceived ''Mainline'' blue livery. No. 37705 is on the right, whilst a Class 58 can be seen

emerging on the left. David Glasspool Collection

Cannon Street was host to the renowned SERCO Test Train on 2nd August 2006. This was

top-and-tailed by a pair of Class 37s - of which No. 37612 is seen here - and composed of BR

Mk 2 air-conditioned stock. No. 37611 was on the other end, and the formation is waiting

to depart to Orpington. There, it will terminate and run back to Hither Green Depot.
