The station approaches are observed. The station building here is to the same basic design as that at Stratford International. On the elevated domestic line is a visitor to the area: Class 14 Shunter No. 14029. Between 1988 and 2000 inclusive, this locomotive was on the Nene Valley Railway, but since, it has appeared on Channel Tunnel contract work. It currently wears the all-over BR Blue guise. © David Glasspool

The opposite side of the domestic flyover reveals an interesting track formation, as lines veer right to pass underneath the elevated section. No. 14029 is still prominent, with its maintenance train. © David Glasspool

A view towards the Thames Tunnels reveals the 9000 tonne bridge carrying the North Kent Line over the international lines. It is worth noting the substantial staircases which provide access between the two routes for maintenance purposes. © David Glasspool
