Kent House

The main building presented a tidy appearance when seen in 2007. The large hole was knocked through the façade
during the 1980s and opened up the subway for use as a public footpath. The booking office occupies that part of
the building to the right of the subway, on the ground floor, where the forecourt canopy once hung. The rest of the
structure is now home to flats. The building is to the same design as that at Otford, and the canopy of the ''up''
island platform can just been seen to the right of the upper storey. © David Glasspool

A London-bound view from the ''down'' island shows the remaining canopy sections, with simplified SR valance.
This side of the main building had recently been painted brown in an attempt to tackle graffiti attacks. The ''up''
main platform here is signalled for trains to terminate. © David Glasspool

A ''country''-bound view from the ''down'' island platform shows the ''up'' glazed shelter, which was installed in
1990 when arsonists burnt down the timber offices and canopy which formerly occupied its site. The curvature
of the line here, combined with the platform structures, requires banner repeater signals. One of these is seen
here on the ''down'' platform; its purpose is to show the position of the following signal, which at this point may
be obscured from the driver. © David Glasspool
