Sixteen Class "MZ" Diesel-Electric locomotives were purchased from DSB by "Lachlan Valley Railfreight", the latter based in Cowra, New South Wales, Australia, about 230-KM west of Sydney as the crow flies. The first five of these locomotives were shipped from Copenhagen on 14th February 2006 (ref: Railway Gazette International, 1st March 2006). "Lachlan Valley Railfreight" later evolved into "Independent Rail Australia", the brand of which is seen emblazoned on the side of No. 1445 as it heads west through the Sydney suburb of Dulwich Hill, approximately 7.5-KM west of the city's Central station. "1445" is the locomotive's original DSB number. © David Glasspool
