A second "E4x" Class "Radial" Tank is seen at the shed, No. 32478, with a bunker full of coal. This locomotive had under three years left in service, being withdrawn in June 1956. Emerging from the murky depths of the shed is "Q" Class No. 30547, to which is affixed a "Not To Be Moved" sign. © David Glasspool Collection

In the background of this view depicting "E6" Class No. 32417, to the right, can be seen the footbridge which was situated over the "down" single-track connection between Crystal Palace (Low Level) and Brighton Main Lines. No. 32417 is seen once again, with "E6" classmate No. 32414. The former had gone to Bricklayers Arms by 1959, but No. 32414 was not so lucky, being withdrawn in 1958. On the right can be seen the single-track "down" connection descending from the Crystal Palace (Low Level) line, whilst in the background is the shed. © David Glasspool Collection
