''Spencer Rail'' was awarded the contract to carry out all civil engineering work for Phase 2 of the East Kent Re-signalling Scheme, which included the building of Rochester's new station. In this ground-level view of the concrete box, we can just about see the top of the railway embankment behind. © Roger Goodrum



17th April 2014

 

The new track panels were in the old goods loop, fitted to a series of unloading machines. They were delivered the previous weekend by lorry from Cumbria to Strood, then loaded by road crane onto these machines and then driven to Rochester. © Roger Goodrum
