The formation of the new station's entry road was in evidence in this southward view from the adjacent A299 "Hengist Way", kerb edging already being in place. In the background, on the left, can be seen the existing arch underneath the railway which will be used for passage between the platforms. © David Glasspool

At the time this photograph was taken, the station was scheduled for a May 2023 opening, although this was later put back to 31st July. Except for the hoardings, the works looked virtually complete. Car parking, drop-off points, bus stops, and electric vehicle charging points all exist on the side of the railway seen here — the bridge to the left and partly obscured by barriers just provides a walking route between the platforms. © David Glasspool
