The signal post on the left of this westward view is a GWR round post-type, whilst the taller post beyond the level crossing is formed from old rail. These replaced concrete signal posts erected by the SE&CR. © Denis Hooker

A westward view towards Wateringbury on 31st July 2005 reveals the 1844-built station building surviving on the ''down'' platform, complemented by the 1892-opened signal box just beyond, and the manually-worked level crossing gates. Also of great interest are the semaphore signal posts either side of the running lines, and the lattice SER footbridge. © David Glasspool
