The signal box retained its traditional SER sash windows until only fairly recently - these have now been replaced with more modern aluminium-framed double-glazed windows. The spruce structure is seen behind the 'down' side semaphore signal post. © David Glasspool
The taller semaphore signal post can be seen to better effect in this eastward view, taken from the staggered ''up'' platform. The station is situated on a fairly tight bend, and weather protection on the ''up'' platform consists of the now familiar bus shelter structure, installed by now disbanded Network SouthEast. © David Glasspool
Another eastward view, this time from the ''down'' platform, reveals another single semaphore rising up above the vegetation. New track meets old metals here, the concrete sleepers in the foreground giving a clear indication of recently laid track. © David Glasspool
