The diesel variety is increased with a Parcels sector-liveried Class 47 fronting a pair

of Mk 1 Travelling Post Office (TPO) vehicles in Royal Mail colours. The parcels sector

subsequently became ''Rail Express Systems'' on 11th October 1991. Mike Glasspool

The Gatwick Express of 1984 appeared at the event in the form of a Class 73/2 and Class

488/2 trailers (two ex-Midland air-conditioned BR Mk 2s). By this time the locomotive had

a reduced warning panel size, but still did not feature a high intensity headlamp. Mike Glasspool
