No. 47555 is depicted at Hoo Junction in January 1992, wearing InterCity ''Executive'' livery. The ''InterCity'' name, now painted over, can still just be made out on the body side. It was on the South Eastern Division at the time for departmental workings over the weekend. © David Glasspool Collection

No. 47484 ''Isambard Kingdom Brunel'' is also observed at Hoo Junction in January 1992, by which time the locomotive was in departmental service. The locomotive had acquired this name and green livery in 1985 as part of the 150th GWR anniversary celebrations. © David Glasspool Collection


1994

 

No. 47741 ''Resilient'' is seen at St Peters, Broadstairs, heading for Ramsgate with an InterCity Cross Country service, possibly from Birmingham. © John Horton


September 1995

 

September 1995 sees Class 47 No. 47805 and Class 37 No. 37201 pair up at Ramsgate, the latter in ''Dutch'' Transrail livery, the former in the InterCity ''Swallow'' scheme. © David Glasspool Collection
