Clock House

A southward view shows two generations of platform extensions. Those sections backed by concrete gave the station capacity for ten-vehicle trains, whilst the lengths beyond allow twelve-carriage formations to be served. The curvature of the track here requires the provision of a banner repeater for the ''down'' starter signal. © David Glasspool

In this final look north, we see that a clock appropriately adorns the station building's exterior although this, too, was a feature of the near identical Woodside station. The line can be seen ascending underneath the main station building, at a gradient of 1 in 100. © David Glasspool
