Dartford
Station Reconstruction
2nd August 2014
The completed station building has a polychromatic finish. The staff quarters are on the upper level, the windows of which can be seen behind the curvature of the grey canopy. The main booking hall incorporates three ticket windows, a newsagent, a café and, amazingly, working lavatories. The glazed façade of the booking hall has a silhouette of Mick Jagger. © David Glasspool

The footbridge of the previous station has been retained and keeps the ''Battleship Grey'' colours. The ''Dartford'' lettering and British Rail ''Arrows of Indecision'' motif are new features, as are the windows. © David Glasspool

In the foreground is the levelled former site of ''The Railway Hotel'', which has been fenced off and, so far, has not been incorporated into the enlarged car park. The large offices to the right of the station building are occupied by Dartford Borough Council.. © David Glasspool
