The commencement of domestic high speed ''preview'' services on 29th June 2009 meant that the low level platforms could now be reached by passengers not bound for the continent. Domestic services make use of the centrally-located island platform, which is in the immediate foreground of this London-bound view. Eurostar platforms flank either side of the station, the ''up'' surface of which can be seen on the left. © David Glasspool

At the foot of the escalators, which bring passengers down from the ''high-level'' building to the island platform, exists a large enclosed glazed waiting room. It is complemented further along the platform with small waiting shelters. © David Glasspool

Platforms 1 and 4 are dedicated to Eurostar, whilst platforms 2 and 3 serve the domestic service. Of note in this London-bound view is the single track gap, on the right, which separates the domestic island from the ''down'' Eurostar platform surface. To ensure complete separation of operations, the Eurostar platform is fenced off at the rear. © David Glasspool
