The platform buildings had been repainted in post-privatisation colours by the time of this view, but the lamp -posts remained in faded Network SouthEast red. A concrete extension of the early SER brick island platform can be seen, which was done at the time of the 1939 electrification. The shuttle service to Maidstone West and Paddock Wood usually uses the far right platform, No. 3. In the background can be seen the viaduct carrying the ''Chatham'' main line over the Medway Valley Line. © David Glasspool
