Yeovil Junction

HST Wanderings

16th November 2008

Hurrah, we're off! Now moving off the spur and joining the line from Salisbury, our HST journey affords us a splendid head-on westward view of Yeovil Junction, with all major infrastructure - bar the signal box - on view. Now stabled in the former ''up'' island platform, it becomes clear that the remaining section of the lattice footbridge has recently been restored. New corrugated metal has appeared on the roof and between the windows. © David Glasspool

By the time of departure, No. 159008 had uncoupled from No. 159007 and made its way to the former ''down'' through line, where it joined to a third Class 159 which had recently arrived from the Exeter direction. © David Glasspool
