Under a month after the previous photograph was taken, the framework of a large entrance canopy was taking shape along the new structure's southern elevation. © David Glasspool

''The Railway Hotel'' had for long been a familiar sight and convenient watering hole by the station. It always looked cosy when walking by on a cold night, although your author remembers a complete lack of real ales! It closed in spring 2012, to allow the site to be cleared as part of the station rebuilding programme. © David Glasspool
