Ramsgate

This is the scene which presents itself on entry to Ramsgate from the Margate direction. From left to right: ex-carriage cleaning shed; EMU heavy maintenance depot (extension of former engine shed); heavy lift shop. All stock in this view is Class 375. © David Glasspool

The SR goods shed was another post-electrification survivor at this interesting site. However, it was at the end of its existence in the above view, being demolished shortly afterwards to make way for new EMU stabling sidings and maintenance depot. © Roger Goodrum

A view from the road bridge shows that since the earlier photographs from 1971 and 1984, only the rolling stock has changed. The infrastructure remains faithful to its Kent Coast Electrification guise. The CLASP staff office has since disappeared from the Minster end of the island platform nearest the EMU shed. © David Glasspool

On the opposite side of the road bridge, the four tracks exiting in the Minster direction reduce by two. An ''Electrostar'' is just about to venture through the brushes of the automatic carriage washer! © David Glasspool
