Remarkably, the defunct parcels depot remains completely intact, even retaining its ornate canopy for the adjacent dock platform, of which track still remains alongside. © David Glasspool

The track bed alongside the parcels depot was returning to nature in the above view, but the canopy remained in solid condition. In the background is a prefabricated concrete extension of the ''down'' platform. This did not block off rail access to the parcels platform; the track instead curved off sharply behind it, to the right. © David Glasspool

The former goods yard site is now an industrial estate, and the huge SR goods shed still exists. The building is now home to a haulage company. The land in this southerly view was, before the advent of the SR's rebuilding works, host to the approach tracks of the ex-SER Margate Sands station. © David Glasspool
