Yeovil Junction
4th June 2005
On Western Region territory behind a Western Region locomotive: No. 6024 is seen puffing away along the picturesque single-track branch to Weymouth, having just departed Yeovil Pen Mill. This view is of interest because it shows the single-track connecting spur with Yeovil Junction veering off to the right. © David Glasspool

The board in front of the ascending spur to Yeovil Junction indicates that drivers should expect the next signal to be at danger. It serves exactly the same purpose as a semaphore ''distant'' signal, but avoids the need for mechanical parts. © David Glasspool

The LSWR signal box of 1907 is in evidence on the left, and we now have a glimpse of the front side of the semaphore signal gantry. The speed limit on approach to Yeovil Junction is 20 MPH. © David Glasspool
