Faversham
Accidents
Misunderstood Instructions: 1989
By John Horton
4 VEP unit No. 3447 derailed at Faversham simply because of misunderstood instructions. The Driver thought he was going to propel onto the ‘’up’’ line and then back into platform 3, when in fact he was actually just going to propel back a short way and then to wait on the signal – he was told it was "all right" and it wasn’t! The result is clear for all to see.
